Day 1 - Mexique / Ensenada

Day 2 - Mexique / Ensenada

Discover at your own pace the Northern Baja California. We suggest you the Ensenada’s fish market, the site of the Bufadora: the place where the mountain plunges perpendicularly into the ocean, the sea formed a cavity at the foot of the cliff and water rushes in a stunning wave of impressive power up to 20 m in height, hence the name of « blower » assigned to the site; but mostly we suggest you browse the Guadalupe Valley to discover the first vineyards in the new world, wine industry founded in 1520 by Governor Christie. Visit as possible of the most renowned L.A Cetto Winery of the Baja California or even those of Monte Xanic or Domecq. In the evening, enjoy the lively atmosphere of the Paseo Calle Primera before plunge you into contemplation of the stars from the terrace of your room.

Day 3 - Mexique / San Pedro Martir

Heading south on the transpeninsular road n ° 1. Near the ruins of the Mission of Santo Tomás de Aquinos, views over the vineyards of Santo Tomás. After a few seafood and fresh oysters in San Quintin, a chain of small volcanoes protects this fishers bay, fork on a track to the Park National San Pedro Martir and its many hiking trails.

Enjoy the incredible views of the Pacific and the sea of Cortés from the Astronomical Observatory, more than 2,800 m high. Some snow can be seen at the top of the Picacho del Diablo, the highest peak of the Baja California.

Day 6 - Mexique / Désert de Cataviña

In contrast striking mountain peaks you will arrive at the gates of the Cataviña desert and Valley los Cirios housing huge boulders and the endemic cactus blooming in a yellow explosive, large area representing a third of the area of Baja California. The rally Baja 1000 anime desert every year and some pictures into a local restaurant reflect the enthusiasm of this race which starts from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas.

Day 7 - Mexique / San Ignacio

Morning departure towards the Southern Baja California. Stop at the Guerrero village to visit the greater exploitation of salt by evaporation in the world. These marshes are also a haven for many migratory birds. Excursion to the Ojo de Liebre lagoon for the ballet of the gray whales (from January to March) they migrate on more than 10,000 kmss from the Arctic of Alaska to calve in the warm waters of the Pacific. The meeting with these 40-ton whales is an extraordinary emotion. Then continuation to San Ignacio, a lovely oasis of orange trees and palm trees refreshing after the desert! Installation in beautiful yurts under the palm trees by the river.

Day 8 - Mexique / San Ignacio

Road to the Bay of San Ignacio, salt marsh area located about two hours of track of San Ignacio. It is the ideal starting point to continue your gray whale watching and perhaps reach petting them!

Day 9 - Mexique / San Ignacio

Day free for a new approach to the whales or to Kayak around the marshes of the Vizscaino biosphere reserve, observe the paintings of the caves in the Sierra San Francisco (Cueva del Raton, Cueva Santa Marta) and enjoy views, or go to the Jesuit mission San Ignacio built in 1728 by Juan Bautista Luyando and that is certainly the most beautiful jewel of religious art any in Baja California.

Day 10 - Mexique / Loreto

Departure by a road through volcano Tres Virgenes and Azufre and their lava flows solidified a last eruption in the 18th century, before arriving at the edge of the sea of Cortés and the mining village of Santa Rosalia, known for the exploitation of the copper in the 19th century and especially his church Santa Barbara designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1884. Santa Rosalía is now days converted to the Humboldt squid fishing and restores old buildings to regain its historical heritage, the hotel Francés remains one of the symbols of the city. Then drive towards the tropical oasis of Mulegé, break possible to visit its mission built by the Jesuit Father Juan de Basaldua in 1705 and for some shopping of varied crafts. Continuation towards Loreto along the coast and the Bahia Concepcion, and small coves waters including the beautiful beach of El Requeson. You will arrive to Loreto, charming town wedged between the sea and the mountains, and ancient capital of both Californias where was built the first Jesuit mission in 1697.

Day 11 - Mexique / Loreto

During this day free, we recommend an excursion to Isla Coronado, regarded as one of the most beautiful islands of California with its deserted beaches and one of the largest underwater ecosystems of Baja California; swim safely with sea lions and observe dolphins, hammer sharks, and many birds, pelicans and boobies blue-footed, as well as the iguanas and giant tortoises. The sea of Cortés is rightly nicknamed the Galapagos of the North Hemisphere!

Day 12 - Mexique / Loreto

Another day free to eventually get to the Jesuit mission of San Javier with a track through the Sierra Giganta with plunging views of the verdant canyons before arriving at this oasis to the olive trees and the mission very well preserved. Downhill return with incredible views of the azure of the sea of Cortés.

Day 13 - Mexique / La Paz

Departure to the capital of the Southern Baja California in criss-crossing between the purple mountains of the Sierra La Giganta before joining the plains. After a last turn, arrival at La Paz, a quiet bay of the sea of Cortés, hidden amidst laurel and coconut trees. Installation at El Angel Azul or at Posada Flores, charming B & B in the historic district, a few minutes’ walk from the seaside promenade and its beautiful sunsets… Troubadour atmosphere, people smiling and friendly, small restaurants, Baja California is part of 18 gourmet and delicious Mexico’s roads. And when we know that Mexican cuisine – culture community, living and ancestral, the Michoacán paradigm – has been registered to the intangible cultural heritage of humanity by Unesco, enjoy!

Day 14 - Mexique / La Paz

Free day, we suggest you a boat trip to the island of Espiritu Santo. The cruise is the opportunity to swim with wild sea lions, which will approach a few inches from your snorkel, observe pelicans and frigates, and, if you’re lucky, you lose in a school of dolphins or cross a whale. Possibility of ballades in quad or horseback along the dunes of sea, or take advantage of the beautiful beaches del Tesoro, Tecolote with its palapas and its seafood restaurants and the beach of Playa Balandra, may be the most beautiful Mexican beach, nestled at the bottom of a small bay and lined with mangroves. Protected from the winds and tides, such shallow water of a lagoon, is transparent and varies from the topaz blue to emerald green.

Day 15 - Mexique / Cabo Pulmo

La Paz – Todos Santos – Cabo San Lucas – San Jose del Cabo – Cabo Pulmo

Road to the village of Todos Santos ranked among « los pueblos mágicos » (the magical villages) of Mexico with a casual atmosphere and many art galleries. Then drive to Cabo San Lucas and its famous beach of love and discovery of the famous natural arch that symbolizes the meeting of the sea of Cortés with the Pacific Ocean. Continuation to San Jose del Cabo more picturesque, then arrival in Cabo Pulmo, village of fishermen living peacefully on the sea of Cortés; Here during the evening not nightclubs and bars, just the stars! and during the day the Cabo Pulmo national marine park called « aquarium of the world », by Commander Cousteau. Installation in a charming house colorful with works of Mexican popular art mixed with artifacts inspired by nature and oriental carpets, also gardens and personalized service will delight you.

Free days for you to rest in a hammock, observe the many birds around the house, laze around under a parasol on the beach, teasing the marlin and the sea bream, swim with a mask and a snorkel among beautiful reefs, dive in the middle of huge schools of fish and spot with a bit of luck white sharks and giant Manta Rays, rowing in kayak to a colony of sea lions, walk or ride mountain biking along 17kms of desert and rocky trails, surfing beautiful waves or let you swept away by the wind on your board sailing…
